  • “Knock knock.” “Who’s there?” “Control freak — okay, now you say control freak who?!” Do you ever feel like there is a script going on much of the time and when someone says “knock knock,” they maybe don’t want to have a real conversation but rather want to make sure you’re staying on the ideological script?

  • What is an establishing (stabilizing) practice for you? When you don’t know enough, when you haven’t done enough, when you are not sure what love looks like right now, where and how may you return to being?
  • Get over the tyrant in your own head who insists on perfect performances. Join me in this thought experiment. Put your name where I put mine: I am not Darren experiencing the body of Christ. We are the body of Christ experiencing Darren.

Hey you, there. Yes, you. Look up right now. What surrounds you? What is small and tender and amazing? Or, what is vast and expansive and astounding? And how about you? Can you, just for a moment, feel yourself existing as one facet of God's glory? Give it try.
